Did you know each home can have its own energy certificate? This will tell you the energy efficiency of your home and where any improvements are needed to waste less heat. You can look up the current energy performance certificate of any home by entering the address into the government website. Why not give it a try here? It also provides basic details on how you can improve your certificate rating. If there is no entry for your address you can arrange a certificate for a small fee or if necessary, update your current certificate if you have made improvements to the insulation in your home.

Since 2018 an EPC has been required when buying or selling a house. It is also a legal requirement for all rented properties to have an EPC with a rating between A and E. This must be renewed every 10 years.

Most households can improve their energy efficiency. There are several things you can check to help make the most of your energy and reduce energy wastage.
